The first post in a series on OOP PHP
For many new php programmers, and a few seasoned ones as well, the concept of Object Oriented Programming can be a very daunting concept. And while it might be true that writing OOP PHP will cause a bit more complexity to your code and will require some new syntax and concepts, it provides you with so many benefits that the pros greatly exceed the cons. Looking back on my journey to learn OOP PHP, I remember feeling lost and frustrated with the way that blogs and articles tried to explain it by saying ‘Let’s use car as our object and we will give it a method called drive’. Great another confusing article that I can’t relate to ANYTHING that I’ve been doing. Enough is enough. This article is part of a series that will guide you through the basics (and a few tricks) of OOP PHP using a simple blog as our example.
